Search Engine friendly URL

is the way of replacing string query with a more important, idiot-proof identifier.  It allows the search engine spiders to basically find out what the content is, from the URL itself.  You’re not only making your URLs easier to remember but also somehow adapting your dynamic pages into static ones.  Search engines crawlers usually do not index a webpage containing non-standard characters like ?, &, %, = etc.

To improve the quality or volume of the traffic to your site from search engines by way of normal search result listings, I have compiled easy, basic, simple and helpful tips in creating SEO friendly URLs:

Understand and research your keywords.

Keywords are the foundation of your web page.  These are the words that are frequently used by internet surfers to find the information they are searching for.  These are words and phrases appreciated by major search engines and necessarily should come into view through out the content of your page.  Always optimize for a keyword phrase and not a single keyword, but don’t overdo it.  There are number of ways to research the keywords that your targeted audience is looking for.

Develop fresh content.

This is just simply supplying your surfers with good and informative content.  Not copied from other sites, but constructed exclusively just for your webpage.  Remember that Content is king when it comes to SEO.

Provide quality and excellent back links.

These are links from other websites that can be used by your readers as references.  They are mostly with similar topics and contents as your website.  It is important to choose and link your site to credible and popular websites that uses search engine friendly URLs too.

Select unique title tags.

Try to slip in keyword tags in your Title, Meta, H1, H2, H3 and ALT tags as constant as possible.  This will make it easier to optimize your page.  Make sure that any title tags are correlated with your articles and web content.

Interior linking.

Interior links happen when you are linking pages within your website.  Try to intertwine a two to four internal links in every article of your web pages.  Avoid putting hyperlinks or words like “click here”, use keyword links instead.

In conclusion, any URL that has carefully planned phrases and word blends help search engines to find out the substance on the page without even going through the content.  This can be regarded as search engine friendly. The phrases and keywords on the URL should be favorable to the content on the website and does not appear like a spam.  Lastly, know the behavior of your competitor and its viewers, you can learn from them by finding out what words and phrases they mostly use.
